NIC Instruments develops equipment to support organisations involved in the defeat of CBRNe attacks.
ZEUS is the ultimate unmanned ground vehicle (UGV, Robot, RCV, ROV) that has been specifically designed to operate in a CBRNe role. Multiple sensors may be mounted on ZEUS allowing operators to carry out remote sensing without having to enter the hazardous area. Data from sensors can be transferred back to ZEUS’ controller allowing a deeper understanding of the threat. The data from the sensors may be passed out to a command and control system which combined with external data such as maps, and weather information can give an up to date threat assessment of any situation. Control of the sensor can also be achieved from the controller, switching it off and on or changing sensor settings depending on the threat detected
ZEUS’ lightweight design allows it to be easily deployed from the back of even small salon cars and ZEUS can be on task within minutes of arriving at a scene. Virtually any sensors may be fitted to ZEUS using its universal equipment mount. This mount is not sensor specific and can accept many different shapes and sizes of sensor.
ZEUS has also been designed to be capable of being operated in full CBRNe protection equipment, allowing operators to attach and set up sensors even within the hazardous area if necessary.
ZEUS has been designed to withstand a wide range of Toxic Industrial Chemicals (TICs) and is capable of being decontaminated with a wide range of systems in accordance with NATO Stanag AEP 7. Its waterproof design (IP65) allows it not only to work in heavy rain but allows washdown procedures as well
ZEUS is already deployed with a major European military in an active CBRNe role.
NIC Instruments is an organisation that is committed to the design and manufacture of CBRNe robots and can work with customers to developed solutions that fit their exact need. All equipment is designed and manufactured in the UK and NIC Instruments has been developing and supporting the security services with high quality British equipment since 1970.
